Festivals and Lit Crawls and Launches, Oh My!

Hey all you fabulous literary types! Have we got a selection of events for you! Armchair/Shotgun is either throwing or participating in some really wonderful activities over the new few months that we think you are going to be super excited about. Below please find a list of what we are up to in order of date, but certainly not in order of importance – because they are all awesome. And, we’d love to see your faces there! Monday, September 14th: Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend Kick-off Party!
7-10PM, The Bell House

Come dance your face off and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Brooklyn Book Festival with free drinks (for a limited time only!), prizes & music by DJ Shiftee. An official Brooklyn Book Festival BOOKEND event, co-sponsored by Catapult, Electric Literature, Literary Hub, PEN American Center & Tumblr.

Friday, September 18th: This Sixth Annual Brooklyn Indie Party!
7:30 PM, Greenlight Bookstore

Co-hosted by the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP)
Drinks, refreshments, prizes, and music from DJ Johnny Temple!

Sunday, September 20th: Brooklyn Book Festival 2015!
10AM-6PM (Rain or Shine), Brooklyn Borough Hall and Plaza

The Brooklyn Book Festival is the largest free literary event in New York City, presenting an array of national and international literary stars and emerging authors, and we are happy to say we’ll be there! Come find us at Booth 403 letting kids pound away on the old typewriters keys as per usual and selling our wares, including our latest issue and some mighty fine looking totes.

Wednesday, October 21st: The return of NYC Lit Crawl!
More details on this one to come. But, let’s just say you are definitely going to want to mark your calendar.

Friday, October 23rd: Armchair/Shotgun Issue 6 Launch Party and Readings!
7:30 PM, Greenlight Bookstore
686 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217
Issue 6 will launch with a Friday night party featuring complimentary wine and whiskey, celebration, and readings by Jaclyn Adomeit (joining us all the way from Canada!), Fraylie Nord, Helena Fitzgerald reading on behalf of Allegra Frazier, etc. Issue 6 features an interview with award-winning poet Jason Koo and the art work of Liz Brizzi and Daniele Genadry, as well as short fiction from Jaclyn Adomeit, Emily Brisse, Allegra Frazier, Fraylie Nord, Andrew Scheinman, and Chris Werkman and poetry from Wendy Merrick Burbank, Hannah Dow, Carrie Hohmann, and William James. We are once again proud to be hosted by Greenlight Bookstore.
